FAQs

Do you offer different sizes for each item?

Since these items are no longer manufactured and their scarcity continues to rise, our inventory is limited to what we are able to source at any given time. If you do not see your size, unfortunately, we do not have it. But, if you would like to send us an email with your size and the item you're looking for, we can notify you when/if it becomes available.

How do you come up with your prices?

Vintage pricing can seem confusing at times. We hope to take some of that confusion away by being 100% transparent about how we price things. Essentially, we look at the quality of the item, its cultural significance, consumer desire, along with any time we may take to restore it, in order to determine its price. Buy with confidence knowing that we price our items fairly.

Why shop vintage clothing versus modern?

Vintage clothing offers many benefits that basic retail and fast fashion simply can't touch. We've boiled it down to the following:

Style
    Celebrating Culture
      Quality
        Sustainability
          Community
            Buying to Invest

              Style

Inside the world of vintage lies a relatively untapped utopia of creativity and self-expression. Each item tells its own unique story that connects us with our fondest memories. Our first concert, our favorite cartoon, or even our first kiss. Our nostalgic selection of vintage clothing serves to outfit you in your individual pursuit of style, with each item being incredibly unique as well as a timeless expression of our lives.

              Celebrating Culture

Wearing vintage clothing preserves our collective cultural experiences in the form of a tangible keepsake. The garments give these memories a physical manifestation we can feel, keep, celebrate, share and enjoy. Wearing vintage helps to preserve culture, the arts, and the creative advancement of society as a whole.

              Quality & Craftsmanship

An exorbitant amount of ingenuity has gone into developing everything we wear currently from jeans and hoodies to shoes and sweatpants. These garments have been honed and crafted throughout the decades. This process of innovation, craft and creativity is particularly evidenced in the clothing we offer. As you continue to purchase vintage (hopefully from us), you will notice more and more of these refined details and the craftsmanship that has paved the way for so much of what we know today. Make sure to look at all of our great product photos, as these will really highlight the unique details in-depth.

              Sustainability

All of our clothing is recycled. When you buy an item from us, you are helping to lower the carbon footprint of that item through its continued reuse. Not only that, but when you buy pre-owned, you reduce the demand for more consumable, modern apparel. Buying vintage is a win-win, both in terms of style and in sustainability. You're helping to lower carbon emissions by offsetting additional, usually over-filled, production demands. When you buy vintage and pre-owned items, you're not just helping to preserve culture, but you're also helping to create a better environment for future generations.

              Supporting Community

We look at community in a holistic way. First, we look at how we are helping to serve those around us. As a small business, we hustle hard to meet your demands and expectations as people and consumers. Whether it's finding those super rare items that you desire or it's working with you directly to see how we can improve our shop--we prioritize you first in our every effort. We are incredibly invested in the well-being of the people we serve, meet and interact with. Your purchase helps us further invest in our passion for vintage and our dedicated efforts to offer the best experience possible. In addition to our immediate community, we also look at community through a larger lens by identifying broader social issues and how we can help impact them in a positive way. We pinpoint and support various causes through a diligent, two-pronged approach that consists of: a) the continuous process of educating and re-educating ourselves on current issues, and b) responsibly allocating resources to as many causes as we can to offer our support. You can see a list of what causes we support and how you can also get involved at the bottom of this page!

              Buying as an Investment

Buying clothing as an investment, at first, is a strange concept to think about. But, this is absolutely what you are doing when you buy a vintage item from our shop with historical and/or cultural significance. More tangible than any stock or mutual fund, your vintage collectible is a physical reminder of the importance of our artistical, musical and cultural contributions as a society. These items are inherently scarce in quantity since there production has ceased, are considered highly desirable in the collector's market, and their value can appreciate over time. Antiques, clothing and historical collectibles have always been sought after, and will continue to be, long after the latest addition to the NYSE rises and falls. Now, that being said, not all items will appreciate, but many will, and many will hold their value far better than any comparable modern, disposable, product. If not in terms of monetary value, than in utility and sentiment. You can think of vintage clothing as a liquid asset that has social redeeming value with the potential to realize fiscal value over time!

My item is quite valuable, can I insure it or add signature confirmation when shipping?

For any item over $200, we may require signature confirmation for the sake of preventing theft and ensuring a safe delivery. We will notify you in the event we deem it necessary for your purchase. You must make the proper arrangements to receive the package and sign for it. Most items over $100 are insured on our behalf already with no extra charge on your end. Consider thanking us for this service by telling your friends and family about our shop! :)

Can I follow Style Paradise on social media?

Of course you can. Actually, you definitely should! We constantly feature new inventory, style inspiration, and other fun posts. Our Instagram can be found here.

I have some questions about shipping and returns, can you help?

Sure, first check out our Shipping & Returns policies here or email us here if you cannot find your answer(s) on that page.

As promised, here is a list of organizations we support or contribute to.

These are in no particular order:

The Navajo community experienced devastating loss during the COVID-19 pandemic. We decided to allocate funds to the ThunderVoiceEagle run GoFundMe to help the Navajo through those trying times. We would also encourage you to donate in any way you can, even if you can not donate monetarily there are still plenty of ways you can help their community--these options are outlined towards the lower half of the page in the first link in this paragraph.

In response to recent events, we have donated to various families that have been directly impacted by police brutality, unjust racism and violence. These include:

              Breonna Taylor GoFundMe

              Justice for Kenneth Walker Fund

George Floyd Memorial Fund (now closed)

Most recently, due to the war in Ukraine, we have found it necessary to lend financial support via two separate GoFundMe pages. They are here and here.

We are aware that there are many more causes and people in need of help, so if you have a charity or cause you would like us to get involved in or would like us to bring awareness through our online platforms, please send us an email or DM us and we will do our very best to help in any way that we can.
